Brentwyn - Knitted Vest with V Neck
A sleeveless knitted vest with a deep V neck and ribbed armholes.
September and April are the awkward months: a jumper is too much by eleven in the morning and a shirt is not enough at eight. A vest covers the difference.
Why this knitted vest?
- Sleeveless cut: with the arms left open the vest goes over a shirt without doubling the sleeve, which is what keeps it wearable indoors.
- Deep V neck: the V is cut low enough to show a collar and the top button of a shirt underneath.
- Ribbed armholes: the ribbing holds the armhole against the body so the shirt sleeve does not bunch through it.
- Short body: the vest finishes at the waistband rather than over the hip, which suits it to high-waisted trousers.
- Light gauge: the knit is mid-weight, warm across the chest and back without heating the arms.
Ideal for:
Anyone who works in a building with unreliable heating, and anyone who likes a shirt but wants a second layer that does not turn into a jumper. It carries the shoulder seasons well.
What goes under it?
A shirt, a fine roll neck or a long-sleeved top. It is designed to be seen with something showing at the neck and cuff.
Can it be worn on its own?
Yes, in early autumn. The armhole is cut for coverage rather than to be worn as a tank.
Does it stretch out at the V?
The V edge is ribbed and worked into the body rather than sewn on, which holds the point in place.
